Darcy is an unusual adult fox with a very dark coat. His name means “the dark one” in Gaelic. He is a regular visitor in my garden and has a penchant for play, especially enjoying ripping pillows to shreds and having full-blown pillow fights with his dad. He behaves in a very cub-like manner even though he is already at least 1 year old. When I first spotted him with his dad I was surprised that his dad was not behaving in a territorial manner, chasing Darcy off. Jack started to visit my garden 4 months before Darcy arrived. For all I know he showed Darcy the way. Darcy keeps on inviting Jack to play and Jack is extremely patient with him, so they must be related and I assume that Darcy is Jack’s son.
