Gordon is a resilient little dog fox suffering from a handicap. He has a “lolling tongue” from a historic jaw injury that led to tooth loss on the right side of his jaw, so there is nothing holding his tongue in place and subsequently it lolls. He first arrived in my garden 2 years ago underweight and suffering from mange. He was the underdog and only dared to show up in the small hours when the risk of bumping into other foxes was minimal. I treated his mange and helped to build up his weight. Since Buster’s absence, Gordon has progressed to be the top dog in my garden, allowed to mate and defend his territory against any intruders. He chose Babybelle as his partner and together they are rearing their offspring of 5 cubs.
